Parkstone’s story is a family story: vision, hardship, and resolve. What began as two brothers’ shared ambition became a discipline-driven operating group. This timeline highlights the moments that shaped our values and the principles we carry into every Parkstone company: stewardship, excellence, and integrity.
During their time at Cornell University, brothers Austin and Cole Parker envisioned building a business together after graduation. Their shared dream of pairing small-town values with big-league ambition laid the earliest foundation for what would one day become the Parkstone legacy.
After graduating from Cornell, Austin moved to Gardiner, Montana, near Yellowstone National Park. In July 2016, tragedy struck when Austin lost his life during a lightning storm while hiking Electric Peak. His passing deeply marked the family and shaped the principles that would guide Parkstone’s integrity-driven future.
Cole returned to Cornell to complete his degree in Applied Economics and Management, specializing in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Having lost his brother and business partner, Cole carried forward their shared vision of building something enduring, anchored in discipline, ethics, and community.
In January 2018, Cole Parker founded Parkstone Marketing in honor of his late brother. The name “Parkstone” merged “Parker” and “Yellowstone,” symbolizing both Austin’s memory and the family’s dedication to transforming purpose into enterprise.
In June 2021, Cole joined his younger brother Jake Parker to establish Parkstone Construction—marking the first major step toward expanding Parkstone from a single venture into a growing portfolio of affiliated companies.
To safeguard the Parkstone legacy and guide the expanding organization, Cole appointed Jake, Zach, and Steve Parker to the Board of Directors, ensuring leadership remained rooted in family values and shared accountability.
On July 1, 2023, Steve Parker joined Cole to found Parkstone Financial, bringing the family’s financial expertise under the same trusted name and officially forming the Parkstone network of companies.
Today, Parkstone Companies unites multiple affiliates: Construction, Financial, Marketing, Insurance, and more, under one purpose: building trustworthy, high-performing organizations that strengthen communities and stand the test of time.
